The project is located in Keqiao District, Shaoxing City, at the foot of Jishan mountain, beside Jianshui lake, with a total land area of 53,708 square meters, a total construction area of 37,110 square meters and a total investment of about 230million yuan. It includes three functional groups: Huangjiu Museum, Huangjiu research institute and offices, which respectively carry the functions of culture exhibition, product research& exchange and commercial business. The overall planning inherits the classic charm of Shaoxing architecture and realizes the perfect display of details through the innovation of technical materials.
◆ Courtyard Layout and Space Atmosphere:
The courtyard layout of the museum is relatively modern and regular, and the space atmosphere is open and ceremonial. While the courtyard layout of the research institute is relatively traditional and natural, and the space atmosphere is charming and mysterious. Two seemingly completely different spatial layouts are coordinated and unified under the uniform scale and expressive logic without any sense of conflicts. It is precisely the differences of the spatial experiences that not only increase the pleasure of tourists, but also endows the thickness of architectural history.
◆Building Materials and Forms:
Modern and traditional building materials complement each other here. They may exist independently in different spaces or in one space at the same time. For example, the water court spaces of the museum adopt two different materials. Some buildings use modern building materials and forms such as large FRP structure, and the other use traditional building materials and forms such as small green tile wood frame. Although the two architectural languages come from different characteristics of the times, by the unification of their scales, forms, textures and colors, these materials exist harmoniously in the courtyard at the same time, which makes them more interesting and less insipid and truly realize the dialogue between modern and traditional architectural languages.
